Privacy

Media Smith processes media locally. The desktop application does not need to upload your source media to SCORPEX to convert or enhance it.

When you send a product suggestion, we process the information needed to review and respond to it; that address is not added to a marketing list. When you explicitly register interest, we use your email address for the Media Smith development and release updates you requested. You can ask to be removed from those updates at any time.

Software licence

Media Smith is proprietary software. The licence supplied with the application permits personal or commercial use, but does not permit redistribution of Media Smith or its proprietary components without written permission. Subject to rights granted by applicable third-party licences, proprietary components may not be reverse engineered, decompiled or disassembled. Proprietary internal tools and OCR models may not be extracted and reused separately.

Media Smith is provided “as is”, without express or implied warranty. To the extent permitted by law, its authors and copyright holders are not liable for claims, damages or other liability arising from its use. By installing or using Media Smith, you agree to the complete licence agreement supplied with the application; that agreement governs your use of the software.

Third-party software

Media Smith includes third-party components that remain governed by their own licences. The proprietary Media Smith licence does not replace or restrict the rights granted under those third-party licences.

• Real-ESRGAN NCNN Vulkan — BSD 3-Clause License.
• Packaged Python runtime dependencies — BSD 3-Clause, MIT-CMU, PSF-2.0 and the Unlicense, depending on the component.
• Avalonia, CommunityToolkit.Mvvm, SkiaSharp, HarfBuzzSharp, Microsoft extensions and self-contained .NET runtime components — primarily MIT-licensed.
• PyInstaller-generated workers — distributed in reliance on the PyInstaller Bootloader Exception.
